I have been a student of substance abuse issues and personal healing for 17 years now. My journey began in my early teens when I discovered first hand, the torment, wreckage, and pitfalls of struggling with active addiction first hand.

I spent 3 years in and out of treatment facilities and exploring finding a way to get better that would work for me. I came from a good family and could not understand how I ultimately wound up living in my car with my only friend left, my dog. I had people willing to help me, but I would not accept the help because they were not willing to enable me to continue living life in a reckless, self-
destructive manner.

Through a combination of legal and personal consequences, I eventually found my way to recovery and got involved with people who were willing to help without expectation of ever receiving anything in return. I was able to begin healing through the unconditional love and help of supportive people. I have no been sober for over 10 years and working in the substance abuse treatment field for almost 8 years, continuing to stay in touch with those who helped me and
reaching out to those who want help.

My primary focus is working with people with a solid foundation in recovery, who still find themselves unfulfilled by their life in recovery and want more out of life. The way I see it, we all have the same responsibility on a daily basis, which is to learn and grow as much as we can on any given day. I wish to do my part in helping others live the best life that they can in recovery and explore all of the options they have in recovery to learn, grow, and heal from the very issues that may have caused their substance abuse issues in the first place. I have a responsibility to myself and my community to
continue this journey and help others realize their own hopes and dreams in any
way that I can.
