About We Heal By Choice

We Heal By Choice is a community of people working towards healing themselves from addiction, mainly from substance abuse.  The community also includes friends and family members of those who are addressing their addiction as well as business owners, and service providers who support their efforts.

We produce a podcast focused on creating awareness of resources, strategies and ways to address addiction including interviews with experts and the stories of people who are working towards a better life.  Our TV and radio studios are located in Laurel, Maryland.

The podcast is co-hosted by founders Glenn Garnes and Jenien Epling.

Glenn Garnes:

Glenn is the founder of Abundant Society, an organization devoted to creating a better world through self-help education, utilizing today’s media and communications resources.  Glenn is a retired attorney with a passion for technology.  He loves people and uses his work with people struggling with addiction as one way to achieve his personal mission of making for a better world. 

Glenn is originally from Montclair, New Jersey and resides in Laurel, Maryland with his wife of 25 years, Kathryn Garnes and their four children, Evan, Emmett, Nolan and Mary.

Jenien Epling:

Jenien is a recovering addict whose story now inspires others to pursue a journey of healing and restore their ability to live the life they deserve.  Jenien’s story has moments of tragedy and triumph that have led her to the mission of helping others get to a better place in life.

Jenien is originally from South Baltimore and was a long time resident of Sykesville, Maryland.  She currently resides in Laurel, Maryland. 

Jenien has three wonderful children who she adores dearly, namely Jennha, Johnnie “J.J.”, and Jayden.
